Bullying and Safety Awareness Seminar
From 42 Division:
The 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committee in conjunction with Toronto Police 42 Division will be putting on a Seminar for Parents and Students. The seminar will be held Sunday, November 18th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stephen Leacock Community Recreation Centre, 2500 Birchmount Road, Scarborough. Our speakers come from a wide range of experience and expertise.
. Sadaf Das ( 16 year old student) – Hear the personal experience and triumph of a young victim of bullying
. Laurie Flasco – co-author of “Bullying is Not a Game” – Advice and tips for parents.
. DaynaBoyko – Toronto Police Services Child Exploitation Unit – Child Luring and Internet Safety.
. Jeff Perera – Community and Youth Engagement Manager with the White Ribbon Campaign.
. Jaime Knox – School Resource Officer at Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute – bullying in schools.
This promises to be a very informative and thought provoking event. Light refreshments will be available and there will be a question and answer period afterwards.

Update on Woodside Library
The recent community consultation regarding library hours at Woodside Library was well attended. The proposed changes are as follows: Monday and Thursday opening at 12:00 rather than 9:00. Friday hours will be extended to 6:00.
Woodside Square Library
Did you know there is a plan to reduce service hours in this library by 6 hours? I can’t imagine which 6 hours they consider this library not busy.
Rosewood Taxpayers Association (RTA)
I was disappointed that Googling RTA Rosewood took me nowhere. RTA is my local taxpayers Association. When I Google the whole thing I get articles about the (late) founder of the association:
